The Effects of a Tangible User Interface on Collaboration


Description:

Third semester Medialogy project.

 

The purpose of the project was to test whether having a tangible user interface would have an effect on the collaboration between players. Two versions of the same game was made:

 

  1. A physical Tower Defence game, utilizing a projector and a kinect to project the game on a black surface, and record the placement of colour coded physical tower board pieces.
  2. A virtual Tower Defence game, where the players would connect to the same game and collaborate to survive.

 

In both cases the game was made in Unity.
